The JP-157
The John Pizzarelli signature JP-157 is beacon of one of the great eras of the archtop, the 1940s. This guitar features our reworking of a classic stage ready acoustically brilliant early electric classic. The playability is all there and it is built ready to go, a solid trustworthy feeling allowing professionals to truly rely on a guitar of this caliber. The Soundboard is designed around the Charlie Christian pickup utilizing a fresh take on the laminate archtop. We call this our Double Top Half Carve. We take raw premium musical grade lumber and custom mill it to our specifications. We press each half into shape separately and then laminate it. Finally we lightly carve it for a relief that yields superb acoustical results. No unwanted responses on different stages, yet a roboust vibrant response that you are going to love. We use old vintage reclaimed pine for our interior woods yeilding an unparalleled age built in, not baked in.
